Job Summary: This position primarily supports the Leadership Florida Class Programs. Class Programs include annual programs in which diverse groups of selected participants participate in stimulating and thought-provoking nine-month educational classes consisting of several three-day, two-night sessions held in cities across the state. These sessions include programming on issues critical to Florida, refining well-developed leadership skills via sessions with leading experts, and relevant information on Florida's history, demography, challenges, and opportunities. The role includes comprehensive coordination and execution of program sessions and associated events, ensuring quality participant experiences and operational excellence.
Class Sessions:
Cornerstone Class Program (5 sessions annually)
Connect Class Program (4 sessions annually)
Education Class Program (4 sessions annually)
Executive Class Program (1 session every third year)
Reports to: Vice President, Programs & Planning
Essential Functions: The Program Manager has responsibility for the support of all Leadership Florida Class Programs and associated event activities. The Manager works with the Vice President of Programs & Planning and volunteer leaders with recruitment, development, organization, implementation, and follow-through for all Class Programs. This includes comprehensive event management such as venue and vendor coordination, catering and audiovisual arrangements, participant communications, on-site logistics, contingency planning, and record maintenance.
Additional duties may be added as required.

Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. To be successful in the role, the Program Manager must be organized, able to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously, and possess a wide array of technical skills. The Manager must also have excellent communication skills to deal effectively with key constituencies with whom they work, particularly volunteer leaders, Class members, sponsors, colleagues, and vendors. The job requires both technical and leadership competencies, including:
Event management and execution, including venue coordination, vendor relations, logistics planning, and on-site event support
Analytical thinking and innovation, reasoning, problem-solving, and ideation
Creativity, originality, and initiative
Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, experience with AMS databases is a plus
Strong time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and promote process improvement
Well-honed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail
Logistics and scheduling, meeting management, and experience with travel arrangements
Occasional moderate lifting
Travel to all Class Program sessions, Annual Meeting, and Leadership Team retreat.
