The Florida Bankers Association is seeking a results-driven and relationship-focused Director of Strategic Partnerships to oversee and grow our strategic business relationships. This role is responsible for understanding the bank service provider landscape and translating that into high-value partnerships. Specifically, the position manages our BancServ Endorsed Partner program, sells strategic sponsorships, and sets the framework for Associate memberships.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong sales, relationship management, and business development skills. This position plays a critical role in generating non-dues revenue and ensuring our association offers high-value partnerships to both our member banks/trusts and service providers. This role reports to the EVP/COO and works closely with association leadership, member banks, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

BancServ Endorsed Partner & Sponsorship Management

• Oversee and strengthen relationships with existing endorsed partners, ensuring value for both the association and its members.
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit new endorsed partners that align with the needs of member banks.
• Develop sponsorship opportunities and sell packages to strategic partners to support association events, programs, and initiatives.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.

Associate Membership Development

• Establish a framework for Associate memberships, defining criteria, benefits, and engagement strategies for these members.
• Coordinate the recruitment and retention of Associate Members, ensuring their participation enhances the FBA’s ecosystem.
• Maintain relationships with Associate Members to foster long-term engagement and strategic partnerships.

Industry & Market Insights

• Stay informed about the bank service provider landscape, identifying trends, emerging technologies, and key players in the financial industry.
• Serve as a resource for member banks by connecting them with vetted solutions and service providers, when appropriate.
• Monitor and evaluate partnership performance, providing recommendations for optimization and growth.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with FBA leadership to align partnership strategies with broader organizational goals.
• Coordinate with marketing, education and events teams to ensure partners receive appropriate visibility and engagement opportunities.
• Represent the association at industry conferences, meetings, and networking events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or association management.
• Strong negotiation, relationship management, and sales skills.
• Knowledge of the banking industry and bank service providers is preferred.
• Ability to develop creative sponsorship and partnership packages.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
