The Director, Health Policy and Practice plays a key role in our mission to grow our field and improve patient outcomes, and we rely on you to work directly with our leadership to strengthen reimbursement and access to this life-saving test.

The Director, Health Policy and Practice works with SCCT leaders and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to positively influence coverage, reimbursement, legislative and regulatory policies and practices related to cardiovascular computed tomography angiography (CCTA) in the U.S. and internationally.
You will report to the Chief Executive Officer, and your responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing a strategy that prioritizes SCCT’s outreach and education aimed at clinicians, hospital administrators, and public and private payers to help ensure appropriate reimbursement and access to CCTA services.
Managing SCCT’s membership in the American Medical Association House of Delegates, including participation in the Current Procedural Terminology and Relative Value Scale Update committees.
Tracking, analyzing and organizing responses related to:
Updates to public and private payer policies, including specialty benefit management company policies, that pertain to CCTA services
Annual proposed rules on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System, Hospital Prospective Payment System, and other proposals as appropriate
Federal legislative and regulatory processes that may affect the provision of advanced diagnostic imaging services in general and CCTA in particular

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a policy or health-related field
7+ years’ experience in an advocacy-related role with a healthcare/medical membership association, a health advocacy organization, federal or state legislature, or agency
Well developed knowledge of U.S. medical reimbursement issues and public/private payer structure and practices
Familiarity with the structure and function of the AMA House of Delegates and the CPT and RUC panels
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex, technical ideas in a compelling form for a variety of audiences
