Finance Manager Overview: This position supports Leadership Florida’s mission by providing accounting, financial, budgeting and payroll services to our stable and growing organization. The Finance Manager supports the work of two committees, Audit and Finance, and supervises one part-time Accounting Clerk.
Key roles include:
Supporting budget creation, budget projections, and analysis of income and expenses as needed,
Preparing, reviewing, and distributing regular financial reports and analysis, documenting and addressing issues requiring attention and/or further discussion,
Supporting the President & CEO by proving detailed reports and analyses in advance of Board meetings,
Ensuring complete documentation of grants funding awards,
Serving as primary staff contact for the Finance Committee and Audit Committee,
Serving as primary staff liaison for a contracted independent auditing firm, which also prepares the organization’s tax filings,
Serving as primary contact for multiple project staff; providing financial analysis, support and guidance to assist in creating excellent outcomes within budget,
With other team members, ensure that services are delivered to members efficiently, effectively, and in a courteous and timely manner,
Reviewing all contracts and managing all insurance policies to ensure that the organization is protected,
Processing semi-monthly payroll, including adjusting leave accruals as needed,
Working with the Accounting Clerk to ensure timely and accurate processing of payables, deposits, and billings,
Composing journal entries in QuickBooks,
Monitoring organization’s investments and serving as liaison to investment managers, and
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in business, nonprofit financial management or accounting; and, four or more years of experience managing nonprofit finances,
Budgeting experience required,
High proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks), spreadsheets (Excel) and data management systems required,
Experience working as part of a team delivering coordinated services highly desirable;
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills,
High attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using strong time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, and promote process improvement,
Physical requirements include sitting, reaching, light lifting, operating keyboard, ability to see and speak,
Proficiency or demonstrated ability to quickly learn key software, including:

Experience with information technology management a plus!
