The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers worldwide. We are looking for our next Membership Specialist (Retention), who will provide premium frontline customer service and support for our global IASLC membership.
Day to day, the Membership Specialist will develop and implement proactive strategies to retain active members and manage reinstatements. The Membership Specialist will also conduct member renewal and communication campaigns and regular member feedback initiatives.
This nonsupervisory, exempt position is physically based in our downtown Denver, CO office on a hybrid work schedule. This position reports to the Director, Membership.
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement comprehensive member retention strategies in collaboration with the Director, Membership.
Plan, execute, and optimize member renewal campaigns in PropFuel and other tools and software to maximize retention rates.
Conduct regular member feedback initiatives such as focus groups and surveys to gather insights and assist in analyzing and applying the data to identify areas for improvement in the member experience.
Monitor and report on key retention metrics, including renewal rates, churn rates, and member lifetime value, to inform strategies and decision-making.
Continually assess and improve member retention processes, utilizing member feedback and industry best practices to enhance the overall member experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and IT, to ensure seamless execution of retention initiatives.
Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team and maintain positive interpersonal relationships in a small, intimate working environment.
Travel domestically and internationally, as needed (approximately 5-10%) in support of IASLC or business-related meetings or conferences.

Hybrid work schedule. Employees are based in our Denver office and are allowed to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
Compensation: $60,000-70,000 annually, depending on related experience and education.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3 years of experience in membership association, customer success, or account management roles.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful membership retention strategies and campaigns.
Solid project management and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong technical proficiency with proven aptitude for learning new software/platforms quickly and integrating them efficiently into workflow.
Proactive customer service orientation, relationship building skills and flexibility.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with donors, sponsors, external partners, and staff as a positive, responsive representative of the IASLC.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, dependable.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, communication, and an eye for detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with various IASLC teams.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
Multilingual fluency/literacy would be a plus.
