Responsible for assisting in all aspects of live, virtual, and online continuing medical educational (CME) events from planning and development to execution and final delivery. This position will also be expected to work with members and prospects to earn and retain their loyalty by responding quickly and professionally to a wide range of inquiries and issues relevant to the medical profession.
Reports to: Senior VP of Education and Membership
Essential Job Functions
Manage the organization’s national recognition program to accredit Continuing Medical Education (CME) providers.
Support the FMA’s current list of accredited providers, planning and participating in training activities and events for FMA accredited providers.
Attend 1-2 national continuing professional development meetings per year. On-site attendance at all live, virtual, and in-person educational events required.
Engage in activities to support the association’s national accreditation to provide CME, including development of required planning documentation, collection of required supporting materials from planners and speakers, compilation and analysis of activity evaluation data, completion of required reporting and interim reports, and participation in team meetings to achieve program compliance, analysis, and improvement.
Assist with administrative duties related to the association’s educational events, courses, and projects. Duties will include planning support, communication with speakers and aggregation of supporting data and presentation materials to fulfill accreditation requirements, associated attendee communications leading up to events, and compilation of evaluation data and attendee feedback to support overall program analysis and improvement.
Provide general administrative support to include answering phone inquiries and emails from members, prospects, other members of the healthcare team, accredited CME providers, and other stakeholders.
Travel - 5-8 meetings a year
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (particularly Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint), as well as Zoom and GoToMeeting.
Knowledge of: National criteria, requirements, and policies set forth by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for recognized accreditors and accredited CME providers.
Skills in: Working collaboratively with like-minded team members to support Florida-licensed physicians and help them practice medicine effectively; learning new things and recognizing opportunities for improvement.
Ability to: Show enthusiasm for professional development and adult learning, process improvement, and strategic thinking; Demonstrate creativity and versatility in a collaborative, team-driven culture; Adapt quickly to grasp new technologies, systems, and platforms.
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years prior administrative, educational, and/or event planning experience in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Prior work experience with extensive administrative, educational, and/or event planning for four or more years will be considered equivalent to the bachelor's degree requirement.
