We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join ASM International’s finance team. The Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial management, and non-profit regulations. As the Controller, you will collaborate closely with the executive leadership and contribute to the organization's overall financial strategy and decision-making process.
This role will report to the Director of Finance and engage with all areas of the organization. The Controller will also play a critical role in the administration and maintenance of key software tools used to manage the organization, and continually look for improvements to process and systems.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances, and provide insights to leadership.
Manage financial software and identify opportunities for improved integration and processes.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion and accuracy of audited financial statements.
Provide insightful analysis of financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support short-term and long-term planning efforts.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and non-profit reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit required filings, including tax returns, grant reports, and government compliance reports.
Financial Operations:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking activities.
Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and investment strategies to optimize financial resources.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency initiatives within the finance department.
Leadership and Team Management:
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of financial goals.
Prepare reports and interact with volunteer governance body, with the primary responsibility of reporting the organization’s financial performance.
