Working to support programs in the Pre-University/STEM, University and Continuing Education areas, in this position you will work with program managers to realize success in sponsorship acquisition that fund programs that make a difference to learners of all ages.
As the Education Sponsorship Sales Specialist, you will develop and nurture opportunities that lead to the sale of IEEE education sponsorships, products and services, and philanthropic donations; being accountable for closing sponsorship sales and meeting annual budget goals for sponsorship. To be successful, you will need to be passionate about the impact of education and develop revenue opportunities that connect organizations with IEEE education programs.
Conduct analytical research, build prospect lists, generate leads in coordination with the Educational Activities marketing team, actively work with those leads to develop sponsorship and sales offers, and close sales. In coordination with the IEEE Global Sales team, the IEEE Foundation, and other channels, the Education Sponsorship Sales Specialist will solicit donations and sponsorships, close sales, provide metrics/results to customers, and generate significant revenue for Educational Activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English or equivalent experience
* 2 – 4 years of experience in sponsorship sales, lead generation and fundraising
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with great phone etiquette
* Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
* Proficiency in MS Office and Google Docs
* Knowledge of Salesforce.com a plus
* Ability to travel up to 20%
* Media sales and social media marketing experience, specifically on LinkedIN, preferred
* 2 – 4 years of experience in research and analytics desired
