Position Summary:
KFF is a nonprofit leader in health policy analysis, polling and survey research, and health journalism. Its mission is to fill the need for trusted information on national health issues. KFF serves as a nonpartisan source of facts, information, and analysis for policymakers, the health care community, and the public.
KFF is seeking a Project Manager to join a new program area that will develop and evaluate countermeasures that combat health mis- and disinformation and build trust in facts, evidence, and science. The Project Manager will play a critical role in writing, researching, analyzing, and synthesizing information related to health misinformation and identifying effective strategies to counter it.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough analysis of data and information from various sources on health misinformation, including its sources, spread, and impact, and identify patterns and trends.
Prepare informative and engaging information products (to be determined), such as newsletters, reports, alerts, blogs, and message campaigns, on health misinformation and disinformation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams at KFF, including journalism, policy, polling, and social impact media, on projects related to misinformation.
Evaluate and analyze national and state-level efforts to address health misinformation and disinformation through qualitative and quantitative methods.
Develop and maintain databases of organizations, examples, and initiatives addressing health misinformation, disinformation, and public trust building efforts in healthcare in the United States.
Assist in establishing partnerships and coalitions with other organizations working on misinformation, disinformation, and trust building at local and national levels.
Contribute to communication strategies to share findings, including active engagement with the external stakeholders.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on research findings for internal and external stakeholders.
Stay informed on the latest developments and advancements in the field of health misinformation and its impact on public health.
Required Qualifications:
Authorization to work in the United States.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in analysis or research roles. Experience in misinformation is a plus. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and demonstrated proofreading skills.
Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proven track record of showing initiative and using creative problem-solving skills.
Experience interpreting quantitative data and presenting findings in unique and creative ways.
Demonstrated cultural competence in working with and within diverse communities, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
KFF is currently working a hybrid schedule and requires all staff to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week, with a longer-term hybrid policy of 3 days per week.
Compensation
KFF provides a compensation package that is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The annual salary range for the Project Manager position is between $90,000 and $100,000. Offers are based on the candidate's years of experience and our practice of upholding salary equity within the organization.
