The Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT) is a not-for-profit, corporate member-supported, and volunteer-led global business development association for companies engaged in the Bio/Pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain. We are the industry segment leader in bringing networking, meetings, education, and industry analysis to our 500+ global member companies. The organization does not lobby federal, state, or local governments.
The position of Project Specialist will allow for a great deal of autonomy in managing projects end-to-end. It will also immerse you in the various facets of the organization, such as marketing, meetings, committee and project management, marketing technology, web content, and more. This is a great position to further develop your skills as an association management professional.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop strategies and implement tactics and drive internal and external projects from start to finish in volunteer committee activities, meetings, programs, membership, and technology.
Use creative writing skills to develop messages about the project you are leading as well as collateral materials.
Liaison with committees, track their progress, advise them on projects, and provide assistance when necessary.
Manage organizational projects, interact with members and provide them with information.
Develop project budgets, track costs, speak with vendors and negotiate fees when necessary.
Develop best practices, policy, and procedure documents for future projects.
Manage vendors and other third-party providers related to various projects.
Develop a good understanding of the association, its mission, and strategic directives to best serve the stakeholders, enable volunteers, and function within the staff team.
Position Qualifications
3 to 5 years experience in the association field or related business where you have managed projects and activities, showed leadership, and success.
A Bachelor Degree.
A proven ability to develop project strategies and implement them with positive results in a timely manner.
Must possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills, including interacting professionally with high-level individuals, presenting facts, and handling inquiries.
Resourceful and have attention to detail.
The ability to work remotely, communicate, and interact with staff throughout the workday.
The ability to Travel to East Coast/New Jersey for meetings twice per year if needed.
The ability to travel to New York City for one entire week each March.
