As the Director Student & Academic Education Programs, you’ll play a vital role in the success and growth of IEEE's educational programs for pre-university and university students and educators; determining the strategic direction and execution of tactical plans to accomplish this direction while also having P&L responsibility for the programs.

The Director manages a team of employees focused on building the programs that strengthen pre-university and university education in IEEE's fields of interest through work in accreditation activities, curriculum and faculty development as well as strengthening of IEEE’s STEM outreach programs and

resources for teachers, students and volunteers.

Programs in the current student and academic portfolio of IEEE include TryEngineering.org, the IEEE TryEngineering Summer Institutes, TryEngineering Together, the IEEE Teaching Excellence Hub, EPICS in IEEE, and IEEE's engagement in ABET accreditation.

The Director also oversees the management of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu, the academic honor society for IEEE's fields of interest.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computing, business and/or education; Master’s preferred

* 10 – 15 years’ progressive experience in the development and successful management of existing and newly created educational programs and/or products

* 7 – 10 years’ of successfully leading teams in the achievement of program goals and objectives

* 2 - 4 years’ experience working with volunteer boards and committees preferred

* Experience with product and business planning, project management, financial statements, quantitative analysis, projects and market research is strongly preferred

* Exemplary communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences

* Results oriented

* Expert knowledge of engineering, computing and STEM fields

* Demonstrated understanding of not-for-profit organizations and working with volunteers

* Comprehension of university education models and STEM education standards
