The American Accounting Association is seeking an exempt-full-time Digital Event Strategist/Meetings – IT Liaison to join our team at our Lakewood Ranch Office located in Sarasota County, Florida. This position requires 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday/Wednesday) with three days remote. The on-site requirement may increase during initial training or for certain projects.
Job Summary
The Digital Event Strategist/Meetings – IT Liaison is a new role at the American Accounting Association. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and collaborating across all departments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft products: Office, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, PowerPoint
- Proficient with Zoom
- AMS, CMS and LMS familiarity are a plus – the AAA recently transitioned to Microsoft Dynamics 265 for our CRM and other AMS needs.
- Adaptable and able to quickly learn new technologies as necessary
Position Minimum Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff at all levels
- Experience managing virtual events
- Aptitude for independent troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Strong project management and detailed planning skills; ability to adhere to multiple timelines simultaneously to deliver high quality deliverables in a timely manner
- Ability to learn quickly and operate autonomously in an ever-changing technological environment
Education and Experience Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience
- 3+ years of meeting planning with an emphasis on virtual events.

- Self-starter, comfortable working collaboratively or independently
- Must be within driving distance of the AAA Lakewood Ranch, FL office.
- Must be able to travel (several trips per year).
- DES Certification preferred
