As Senior Association Manager, you will lead a designated staff team with the assistance of cross-functional centers of excellence to achieve the client’s organizational goals. In this role, you will provide direction, project prioritization, and serve as the primary liaison with the client Board of Directors. You will also manage the day-to-day operations of the client. Ensuring our client, American Beekeeping Federation (ABF), and its community members enjoy the benefits of forward-thinking leadership, precise project management and optimal team performance are key responsibilities. This position reports to a Vice President of the Association Management Business Unit for Meeting Expectations and is accountable to ABF in the achievement of client objectives. This position is based in the Superior, Colorado office. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Manage the overall operations of the association, including governance, strategic planning and the development and execution of business plans.
- Effectively manage staff resources to remain within contracted scope of services.
- Manage and/or mentor staff assigned to the client, including providing feedback, reviewing performance, directing work, delegating and motivating.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings, legal obligations, national organization requirements, financial policies and bylaws.
- Develop and recommend annual budgets for Board approval and responsibly manage organization’s resources within budget guidelines.
- Schedule and prepare for Executive and Board of Directors meetings.
- Develop and execute sponsorship sales to achieve budgeted revenue targets.
- Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented with a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders and the public.
- Oversee the design, branding, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services.
- Administer an effective internal and external public relations program that is responsive to the needs of the membership and the profession.
- Oversee membership marketing, member services and member benefits to enhance member and partner experiences.
- Assist with developing and executing event strategies for the organization.
- Coordinate volunteers and the management team to manage all aspects of the organization’s annual conference, webinars, web-based and e-learning initiatives, and other events.
- In partnership with the management team, work with and support all committee chairs to set and achieve goals. Support volunteers in their various roles and coordinate succession planning at all levels.
