The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is a medical specialty society representing approximately 1,800 transplant surgeons, physicians, scientists, and allied health professionals working in the dynamic field of solid organ transplantation. ASTS is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Education & Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for supporting a variety of crucial activities across the society. This newly created position provides an exciting opportunity to learn about a wide range of ASTS initiatives and positively impact the efficiency of our communication, projects, and member services. This position will provide critical support to senior staff and member leadership. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support CME compliance through maintenance and documentation for accrediting bodies;
Set up CME activities in the online credit-claiming platform;
Provide customer support to members claiming CME credits for ASTS educational activities;
Manage the mobile application content for ASTS conferences;
Serve as primary contact for incoming emails or calls about ASTS educational activities including continuing education activities and credits, and ASTS events;
Provide administrative support for Council, Executive Committee, and Foundation Board of Directors including call scheduling, organizing materials, and assisting ED and senior staff as needed.
Provide logistical support for Council, Executive Committee, and Foundation Board of Directors to include meeting attendance tracking, meeting support, and other duties as assigned;
Provide administrative support for advocacy needs, include call scheduling, board outreach, and tracking;
Assist with logistical and support needs related to ASTS meetings;
General administrative duties as needed
Some travel required
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.).
Outstanding organizational skills, the ability prioritize amongst multiple projects and deadlines, and function within a fast-paced environment with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Excellent communication skills and attentive to detail.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, especially the ability to work effectively and professionally with physicians and other health care professionals
Self-starter with ability to work independently and part of a team.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Technologically savvy
