The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is a medical specialty society representing approximately 1,800 transplant surgeons, physicians, scientists, and allied health professionals working in the dynamic field of solid organ transplantation. ASTS is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Coordinator, Training and Certification to play an essential role in supporting the administration and success of ASTS educational offerings and the Transplant Accreditation and Certification Council (TACC). This position will help expand ASTS’ education and certification activities and support the development of outstanding educational opportunities for ASTS members. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison to the Curriculum Committee, faculty authors, online system vendor, and others to implement and maintain the online National Transplant Surgery Curriculum content and other e-learning programs;
Manage the maintenance, content updates, and ongoing improvement in the ASTS online learning management system (LMS);
Work with the Manager, Training and Certification to support the development of the TACC certification program including; written and oral exam development and administration, processing certification applications, annual fee invoicing, and maintaining a certification database.
Serve as a liaison to assigned ASTS and TACC committees hosting conference calls and meetings, coordinating activities and providing support as needed to achieve the objectives determined by the leadership.
Provide support to the Meetings Manager regarding program development and planning for FTC and TACC meetings throughout the year.
Provide outstanding customer service to and communicate regularly with ASTS’ surgical fellow members during their two-year ASTS fellowships in transplant surgery;
Track and monitor trainee progress and issue certificates.
Assist with special projects, as needed; and
General administrative duties and other duties as assigned; some travel required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
Results-oriented, self-starter, deadline-conscious, intellectually curious and willing to learn
Excellent customer service skills
Polished verbal and written communications skills; strong presentation skills when needed
Well-developed interpersonal skills, especially the ability to work effectively and professionally with physicians and other health care professionals
Demonstrated success at collaborating with cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and prioritize amongst multiple projects and deadlines and function with a fast-paced team environment with internal and external stakeholders
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Technologically savvy
