Position Overview NCA’s Graphic Designer is responsible for the Association’s visual communications and collateral materials including, but not limited to, print and digital advertising and marketing, meeting programs and promotional materials, presentations, social graphics, signage, electronic publications, videos, white papers and infographics. The position will assist with the management of NCA’s branding and styling across all media and platforms. The Graphic Designer will execute creative projects for all departments within the association and utilize a variety of design skills.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, develop and produce high-impact creative materials that reflect NCA’s mission and vision.
Design and produce art and copy to support NCA’s external communications and advocacy programs, trade shows and other events, membership activities, and industry communications.
Design media to support the Association’s brands and sub-brands.
Support third-party design projects by packaging logos, font, and other art as necessary; monitor external products for brand consistency; manipulate supplied artwork to create resources for internal use.
Design PowerPoint templates for use by NCA staff and third parties; create presentations or artwork for presentations to support the Association’s internal and external communications.
Create infographics and/or data graphics.
Source printing partners and other vendors; monitor projects through all phases of production, adhere to budgets, deadlines and time constraints.
Maintain electronic filing system for all of NCA’s visual assets.
Present new ideas for sharing NCA messaging in a compelling, visual manner.
Assist producers of web and social media content with graphic development.
Collaborate with internal marketing teams to create engaging materials for NCA events and member services.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required, preferably in graphic design or communications (equivalent work experience may be considered).
Two or more years of work experience in the graphics design field required, including internships.
Strong layout and typography skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) in a Macintosh platform; fluency in MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint.
Excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail. Previous writing and proofreading experience preferred.
Ability to work in both a collaborative environment and independently on several projects at once, often against tight deadlines, while providing frequent status and progress updates to internal teams.
Understanding of printing process, photography and illustration.
Flexibility and ability incorporate feedback, while offering constructive advice on design choices that may better reflect the Association’s goals.
Reporting Structure The Graphic Designer reports to the Vice President of Integrated Marketing & Communications and is an integral part of the Association’s public affairs and communications team working closely with all departments.
