POSITION TITLE: Manager, Guideline and CPU Development
REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical Practice
SUMMARY: Support the work of the AGA Institute by overseeing the development and implementation of AGA’s clinical guidelines, Clinical Practice Updates, and related clinical tools, education, and resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and manage the development of AGA clinical practice guidelines and clinical practice updates (CPUs).
Serve as liaison to guideline and CPU workgroups, aiding in all project management aspects of guideline and CPU development.
Maintain project timelines; ensure that guidelines and CPUs are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate the development of new educational programs and products for clinicians and patients related to AGA guidelines and other clinical resources in collaboration with Communications, Corporate Relations, and Education staff.
Serve as liaison to the Clinical Practice Updates Committee and the Clinical Guidelines Committee.
Draft official meeting minutes for all committee meetings
Develop agenda, prepare requested reports, and draft slides for committee meetings with direction from the Director of Clinical Practice and committee chairs
Manage contracts, honoraria, and adhere to budgets associated with each guideline.
Organize in-person meetings for guideline working groups as needed.
Facilitate integration of guidelines into the Clinical Guidelines App and pocket guide
Draft accompanying patient guide for appropriate guidelines
Regularly update the Director of Clinical Practice, committee chairs, AGA staff, the editor(s) of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Governing Board members on the progress of guidelines, CPUs, and related educational programs and products. Keep excel tracking mechanisms up-to-date for internal staff and chairs to follow progress.
Manage and update appropriate Guideline and CPU sections of SharePoint
Coordinate with relevant members of the Communications and Education departments to aid in the development of Clinical Decision Support Tools (CDSTs), podcasts/webinars, patient education materials, and other supplementary products as needed.
Schedule, participate, and take minutes in conference calls.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional work ethic.
Fulfill other duties as assigned, commensurate with the scope and responsibility of this position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university required.
2-3 years of related experience required.
Experience as a committee liaison and/or with guideline development highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to learn project management software.
Interest in clinical medicine and public health preferred.
Basic proficiency in medical terminology preferred.
Eager to learn; keen attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills essential.
